After last week’s drama-fueled episode, GCB goes back to what it admittedly does best by delivering an episode that’s mostly filled with comical situations. After Amanda rear ends another car due to driving while trying to kill a bee, she meets its driver – A guy who was, apparently, driving without pants on. Though the situation is rather awkward, that doesn’t keep the guy from hitting on Amanda – And dropping his pants from the car on the way.
Later, on Bitsy’s funeral (Where Cricket does an awesome work at destroying Amazing Grace so badly not even her loved Jesus could fix it), she meets the guy again – This time he wears a choir robe due to have lost his pants – And gives him back the pants he dropped from his car, much to Carlene’s amusement, who immediately jumps in and asks her just why on earth she has her little brother’s pants.
After the funeral, as the church fundraiser draws near, the GCBs get together with the minister and the main members of the congregation to start planning. Though mainly a power struggle for who does what and who leads the fundraiser, Heather’s attempt at being noticed end with Carlene deciding that since she’s now the most powerful woman in Dallas (As her boyfriend said after Bitsy’s funeral) maybe she should plan the fundraiser herself. She quickly talks about this to her boyfriend, who gives her a number of a nice girl who sang once for him and says that, if she drops his name, she’ll probably do it for free even.
Gigi has her bit of trouble as Burl attempts to start a relationship with her right after his wife’s funeral, something that’s pretty badly seen anywhere but especially so in Dallas it seems. Nevertheless, after the funeral Burl keeps insisting, eventually making Gigi fall for it and propose that they dine together in the night, after the sun is down.
In the meantime, Sharon and Zack’s issues keep growing with Sharon spending more and more time at the church with the minister. Zack attempts to get her back by getting their son to come back from the academy he’s in – And telling Sharon he got expelled for being a womanizer. However, his plan quickly backfires when his son actually gets arrested for stealing his mother’s car and quickly starts hitting on pretty much every woman he runs into.
Back with Amanda, Carlene’s brother Luke keeps hitting on her eventually getting her to accept going out with him to a place that, he believes, she’s never even dared set foot into. Thus, he takes her to Boobylicious, only to find out she’s not quite as classy as he initially believed and then realizes she was the woman Carlene had been shamed by in front of the whole church congregation some time ago. Carlene, by the way, doesn’t like the idea of her brother dating Amanda so she dedicates the bulk of her night to spying on what she believes are both of them fooling around outside Gigi’s house and eventually calls the neighborhood watch on them – Only to find out the couple was made up of Gigi and Burl.
After Amanda and Luke get back to the house, both couples separate and agree to go to the Church fundraiser together. However Carlene, having learned of Gigi and Burl, calls Amanda and blackmails her by saying if she keeps dating her brother she’ll go public with Gigi and Burl’s affair, something that would greatly damage her reputation as one of Dallas’ most influential ladies. Knowing how important it is to her mother and how much she deserves happiness Amanda quickly breaks up with Luke, though she is forced to go to the church fundraiser with her mother and Burl.
At the fundraiser, Heather gets a full spotlight after Sheryl Crow shows up to sing, helping them raise the three million the pastor had hoped for. However, her boyfriend isn’t as pleased since on the way she also asked to be publicly recognized along with her boyfriend for bringing her there, something he’d rather not have to deal with and, after chatting with her, he tells her that she seemed much more interested on getting the attention of the crowd that night than she seemed at being with him, so he breaks up with her.
Zack decides to try and really learn what’s going on, asking the church pastor if he’s interested in Sharon – To which he answers by letting him know he’s interested in her as in everyone else from the congregation, and that what Sharon sees in him isn’t attraction to him as a person but to the power he has as a pastor. It is then that Sharon walks in, after her son causes a mess backstage with Cricket’s daughter and, after hearing the conversation, scolds Zack for believing she might be sexually attracted to a pastor. After noticing just how dysfunctional the family is, the pastor decides to tell Sharon to quit her job helping him, since her family needs her far more than he does.
Back at the fundraiser, Amanda’s tale about how Luke didn’t go with her because he had to go back to Austin doesn’t last long, particularly after Carlene passes by their table and says that indeed Luke had to go – To a different city than Amanda had told Gigi. Noticing this, Gigi takes Amanda away and has her explain what happened, learning then of Carlene’s ruse and deciding to end it by going public about her relationship with Burl, thus allowing Amanda to be with Luke, free from any blackmail.
The episode closes as Amanda asks Luke to be back with her even when she’d hurt him and he accepts due to her maybe being the best thing that’s happened to him. Back at Sharon’s house, both Sharon and Zack scold their son greatly due to his womanizing ways, with Zack taking control and telling Sharon he’s not going back to the academy, instead staying at home with his family. This display of power, as the pastor had said, turns Sharon on, who tells him it’s “time to go to bed” right after Cricket leaves, leaving both her children grossed out at her display.
